To add to it is Shobana���s immense dancing talent. The dancer-cum-actress is in Pune for her well-known musical dance drama, Maya Ravan.She calls Maya Ravan a mini musical with dance and dialogues delivered by eminent artistes like Naseeruddin Shah and Tabu. ���The body language is theatrical and classical whereas the dialogues follow the style of narration heard in films. It starts with Ramayana and closes with Ravana���s tale,��� she explains.
She is currently shooting for Mani Ratnam���s film Ravan that stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Does a National Award affect the choice of her films? She replies, ���At the beginning of career, one wants to associate with a good production house. As one matures and develops an eye for creativity, a good director and a good script becomes an important consideration.��� What about Mani Ratnam? ���As the years roll by, I see him more excited about his films,��� says the actress. This is also the first time she is working with Aishwarya. Praising the actress, she says, ���She is a thorough professional. She has a great ear for music and she is a good dancer too.���What���s the reason for her singlehood? ���I don���t know whether I will be single forever. I am busy with my artistic pusuits.��� And, the audience can���t seem to stop applauding.
